We undertook this project as a subcontractor to the principal EPC contractor in support of a cut and cover tunnel construction methodology. The project comprised the construction of a large temporary cofferdam to enable Taisei to construct the Palm Jumeirah Vehicular Tunnel in the dry. We installed approximately 2.5km of sheet pile cofferdam to a depth of 30m below sea level, including 2 km of sub-merged bund, and dewatered the area to facilitate construction. Upon completion of the tunnel we removed all sheet piles.
