1,026MW AL LAYYAH COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT (MARINE WORKS)



Overseas AST Co. LLC (AST) is pleased to announce the award of the marine works contract associated with the 1,026MW Al Layyah Combined Circle Power Plant (CCPP) under construction by consortium partners El Sewedy and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS).

The Project comprises the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of Offshore and related Onshore facilities making up the Sea Water Intake and Outfall system. Key elements of the works that AST will deliver include;

  • Detailed design of the Sea water System
  • Seawater intake pipeline installation (2 x Ø2.7m x 450m), including intake header and chlorination pipeline.
  • Seawater outfall pipeline installation (2 x Ø2.7m x 900m), complete with onshore seal pits to facilitate return of used seawater from the plant to the sea, including outfall diffuser;
  • Onshore Seawater pumping station structure, including temporary works
  • Reclamation and coastal protection for the Intake & Outfall pump station
  • Oil barrier and warning system for intake
  • Navigation Aids

This 18 month project will be completed in Oct. 2021.
